2nd and 3rd grade Resource Support

Welcome back!
This year will bring some exciting new changes to our building. As we enter our second year of inclusion at the intermediate level, you will notice that my role has changed. I will be a resource class for second and third grade students who may need additional support in their language arts subjects. I will also be in the regular education class supporting all students for math. Along with the regular education support, I will also be preteaching math lessons to my students in order to assist them in their grade level math. As this will be a change for your child, your support at home will be crucial.
My goal is to support students in my classroom as well as their grade level classroom so that they are successful in the inclusion setting. I welcome your comments and suggestions as we progress through this year. As we go along, we will be "fine tuning" the process.
My students will have short homework assignments Monday through Thursday so please make sure your child has a place to do his or her homework. Your support with their homework is crucial to their success of the concepts we will cover. Please sign your child's agenda nightly along with his reading slip.
As a parent and as a teacher, I feel that communication is an essential part of your child's education. Therefore, I may call home or email for either good or poor behavior and academic performance. Please contact me at school if you have any questions or concerns. The best time to reach me is 8:15 to 9:15 and 3:30-3:45. If I am not available, please leave me a voice mail and I will return your call as soon as possbile.
