Mission Statement:
"The mission of Thaddeus Stevens Elementary School Counseling Program is to enhance student awareness in the areas of personal, social, emotional, and educational development in a respectful, safe, and motivating school environment through a collaborative partnership with school, family, and community systems."
Role of the Elementary School Counselor:
1. To help children understand themselves and others.
2. To prevent problems from developing.
3. To provide crisis intervention when necessary.
4. To coordinate or facilitate the efforts of other personnel
and outside agencies with those of parents, teachers, and administrators.
5. To develop personalized programs based on each child's
strengths and needs.
