 The Round Hills PTO is an active organization who values parent involvement.  We hope the information below will help to answer who we are and what we do at Round Hills.  Please join us in our efforts as we strive to make our school the very best for our students, staff and faculty.  We are ROUND HILLS PROUD!

 

Our Mission is: To form a bond between parents and educators and to ensure the highest advantage of mental, physical and social development for our students.

 

q We are a 501 (c ) 3 non-profit charitable organization

 

q We have 16 committees offering a variety of volunteer opportunities.

The Benefits of Parent Involvement according to research:

 For our Students:

·          A more positive attitude towards school

 For parents:

·          A forum to meet other parents

·          Become informed about school activities

·          Be a part of the planning for activities

·          A monthly update directly from the Principal

 

PTO Activities to promote a link between Parents, School & Community

·        Fall Festival, evening in September  

·        Book fair

·        School Beautification, weekend morning in April

·        Activity Day, school day in June

·        Coordinate list of school volunteers (classroom helpers, computer lab, office, library, morning tutors…)

 

To keep Parents informed we provide:

·        Monthly PTO meetings

o    Second Monday in the months of Sept., Oct., Nov., Feb., March, April, & May. Meetings will be held at 6:30pm in the school library.  We encourage all to attend these open, informative meetings.

·        PTO news section in monthly school newsletter

·        PTO bulletin board

·        Web page on school web site wasd.schoolwires.com

 

 
Activities funded by the PTO include
  •     Odyssey Of The Mind     
  •     Class field trips including transportation
  •       Special programs & assemblies
  •       Staff, Student, and Volunteer appreciation activities
  •       Provide student awards
  •       Scholarships for 4 WASD seniors who were Round Hills graduates
  •       Compile student yearbooks and directories
  •       Purchase books & magazines for the school library and classrooms
  •       Provide “Accelerated Reader” materials and incentives
  •       Fifth grade trip funding
  •     Budget funds for Principal and teachers
  •       Organize and fund school & grounds improvements
We fund these Activities & Purchases by our:
  •     PTO Membership drive
  •      Spring (Candy and bulbs) Catalogue sales                             
  •      “Square One Art” sale
  •      “Round Hills School Pride” logo apparel
  •     Walk-a-thon
  •     Hoss's days

            o   Box-Tops for Education
            o   Cartridges for Kids
o  Target “Take charge of Education” credit card program
o   Giant A+ Rewards
o   Datman Productions Rewards Program
